What is Capstar?
Capstar comes in tablet form, and is used to kill fleas starting in just 30 minutes. If you would like your pet to have immediate relief from fleas, this is it.
For:
Dogs (4 weeks of age and older and 2 pounds of body weight or greater)
Cats (4 weeks of age and older and 2 pounds of body weight or greater)
How soon will CAPSTAR start to work?
CAPSTAR® (nitenpyram) starts working in just 30 minutes.

How it works:
The active ingredient in Capstar is nitenpyram, an insecticide. This oral treatment kills adult fleas quickly. Nitenpyram interferes with nerve transmission in fleas, with no adverse effect on your pet.
How often can I use CAPSTAR?
A single dose of CAPSTAR® (nitenpyram) should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet gets reinfested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day.
Cautions:
Pets may scratch as a result of the fleas dying, but it is a temporary condition and its not a reaction to the medication itself.
